Is 200 plus target a safe bet?
It is often seen that while batting first, teams which score heavily stand a better chance of winning a 20-20 match. Analysing IPL 2008, a whopping 86% of sides which batted first, went on to win their matches after theyposted more than 200 runs. However, it remains to be seen, in South Africa, what could be regarded as a safe total.Chennai Super Kings is the only side which scored more than 200 thrice and won on two occasions when they batted first. Kolkata Knight Riders won both their matches when they piled up 200 plus totals batting first. Interestingly, it was only Rajasthan Royals which successfully chased a 200 plus total against the Deccan Chargers proving they were the worthy champions of IPL 2008.
