Inspired visitors look to gather momentum for series win

After shocking England at Bristol by 5 runs, buoyed Bangladesh dream about a series win against fired-up England who would be coming out on all cylinders.

In both the games, Bangladesh have batted first and have followed a similar pattern - Explosive start in the Quick Start Overs, followed by a rapid decrease in the run-rate from there on. The batsmen have done well though, in the middle overs, in not throwing their wickets away. After the disappointment at Nottingham, the bowling came back well at Bristol, sneaking a 5-run win. All the bowlers, pace and spin were generally good and skipper Mashrafe Mortaza finally seemed to get back his form with both bat and ball.

England looked to continue their terrific form in the last 6 months with a flawless win in the first ODI, but played completely careless cricket in chasing down 236 as the batsmen simply threw their wickets away. The opening bowling is still a worry with the bowlers not able to strike early but Ajmal Shahzad put in an impressive performance in the second ODI. The batting too, has done well in recent times, but Saturday’s performance was abject, with none of the batsmen prepared to stay out there and the team paid the price.

In spite of gaining confidence and momentum from the second game, Bangladesh still start as underdogs for this final tie as they lack consistency. England will be roaring to come back for a revenge and one could very well see a one-sided decider.
