England eyeing whitewash

The third ODI between England and Bangladesh will be played at Chittagong on Friday. England has already won the series 2-0 and will look to complete a 3-0 whitewash over the hosts.

Bangladesh would be disappointed for letting the second ODI slip away in the Extreme performance overs, while they had England under pressure. The hosts had done extremely well up until the last four overs where they allowed Eoin Morgan to lead England home. But the hosts would be pleased about their much-improved performance from the first ODI, when they allowed England to dominate. They will be looking to register their first win of the series, which would also be their first against England. The first game had seen Tamim Iqbal score his third ODI century, while in the second encounter, his opening partner, Imrul Kayes got his side off to a strong with a half century to his name. It is critical for the two opening batsmen to come good if Bangladesh are to get a win under their belt. However, Bangladesh will also need their middle order to tighten up their screws and skipper Shakib Al Hasan will be hoping to lead by example after a good display off bowling in the last match.

With the series already won, the visitors might look at making a few changes to their line-up. Craig Kieswetter has struggled at the opening spot and Joe Denly or Jonathan Trott might come into the side as his replacement. Kevin Pietersen is yet to play a part in this series and it’s an ideal opportunity for him to get his act together ahead of the IPL and World cup. Eoin Morgan has been the backbone of this English line-up and after the match winning effort in the second ODI, he could well be the danger man yet again. There should be no changes in the bowling attack as Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Broad are still out injured. Alastair Cook and Paul Collingwood have gotten off to starts but failed to get a big score next to their name and both of them would be eager to play an impactful innings.
