Kolkata look to build on winning form
Knight Riders would like to continue the trend and get another win at home when they take on Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday.
The Knight Riders have started the season with a bang and are on top of the table, after consecutive victories in the first two matches of the tournament. Mathews once again proved to be an integral part of the team as he claimed 4 wickets for just 19 runs. He seems to be on top of his game at the moment. Their bowlers are working well in tandem and need to continue in a similar fashion. The top order, which was a cause of concern for Ganguly’s team, came to the party as the openers put on a 100 run partnership. Mathews, Langeveldt, Tiwary and Hodge would be expected to play well, if the Knight Riders want to extend their lead at the top.
Dhoni will have a lot to think about before he goes into the match against a rejuvinated Kolkata side, lead by the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. A lot of work needs to be done for the Chennai Super Kings as they were outclassed by the defending champions Hyderabad. The men in yellow will need their senior players to lead by example. They would need the likes of Hayden, Raina, Dhoni and Muralidaran to pull off out something special, if they are going to beat Kolkata in their own backyard. They cannot afford to slip-up anymore, despite the tournament being in its early stages.
