Knight Riders host Royal Challengers Bangalore
The Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to get their campaign off to a glorious start against a Knight Riders unit which is high on confidence.
Bangalore have a good line-up this year with a number of talented domestic players, which means they would not have to rely heavily on their international contingent. Manish Pandey, Abhimanyu Mithun, R Vinay Kumar and Sreevats Goswami have all done well at the domestic level and would be raring to go. In Anil Kumble, the Challengers have found a formidable captain. Their line-up boasts of a good blend of youth and experience. With Pietersen and Taylor missing the initial matches, they will depend on Rahul Dravid, Jaques Kallis, Cameron White and Virat Kohli to get the runs.
Kolkata would be high on confidence after their splendid performance in the opening match of this tournament. However, the biggest cause of concern for Sourav Ganguly would be the top order that fell like a pack of cards and he would be hoping for a better performance from them. The key players would be the in-form Mathews and Owais Shah, who would be looking for a repeat of the performance in the match against Bangalore. Good aggressive bowling and fielding would be the key for Kolkata. The players to watch out for would be Laxmi Shukla, Charl Langeveldt and Ishant Sharma.
