New Zealand plays for pride

The Kiwis would be looking to end the series on a high, after Australia attained an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series.

The Black Caps were struggling to find the right combination after some of their key players had to sit out due to injuries in the last game at Auckland. The Kiwis could not capitalize on the start provided by Guptill and McCullum and were restricted to 238. New Zealand would be hoping for some major contributions from Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor. Vettori may keep his spot at No. 6 and would be the man to watch out for. The Kiwi captain has critiscised his batsmen and would be hoping for a better performance from his top order as they have been struggling throughout the series, except the first match and this is a cause of concern for the hosts. If the Kiwis want to win the match they would need to bat through the 50 overs, something they haven’t managed to do, three times in the last four games.

The Aussies had a poor start to the series but won the next three matches on the trot to clinch the series. The Aussies know that the Test series is coming up and would like to end the ODI series with a victory. Doug Bollinger would be concerned with his performance in the series so far, with only 3 wickets in the last four games and would certainly like to change that, especially with the test matches coming up. Brad Haddin and Mitchell Johnson are the two key players  for Australia as they are the leading run scorers and wicket takers for the tournament.
