West Indies eyeing series win
Zimbabwe take on West Indies in the fourth ODI at Kingstown on Friday, where the hosts will be looking to double their advantage and clinch the series.
West Indies have fought their way back into the series after losing the T20I followed by an embarrassing defeat in the first ODI. They marginally edged Zimbabwe in the second game but got back to their best in the last game. All of their top order batsmen managed to get a decent score which helped them get off to a good start. A good finished helped post a very competitive score on the board and the bowlers responded wonderfully, bowling Zimbabwe out very cheaply. For the first time in the series, the difference between the two sides for there to see and West Indies will be hoping to display similar quality in their cricket for the remainder of the series. Chris Gayle will continue to be the key man for the hosts and it will be important that he gives them a good start.
Zimbabwe’s batting has steadily deteriorated in the series with their totals dropping gradually from 254 in the first match to 104 in the second. Vusimusi Sibanda, Stuart Matsikenyeri and Tatenda Taibu have failed to put in consistent performances since the first match. If the visitors are to have any chance of making a comeback in the series, it is crucial that their batsmen put a decent score on the board. Their spinners and medium pacers have done an excellent job at keeping the West Indies batsmen at bay and have shown that they are capable of picking up wickets on a consistent basis. They will need to believe in their abilities and have the confidence to beat this West Indies side.
