West Indies look to build on momentum
After having taken an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the series, West Indies now look to build on that momentum and finish the series with a win on Sunday.
West Indies looked slightly derailed at the start of the series, but seem to have got back on track with the return of Dwayne Bravo. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have struggled with the bat since the first ODI and its difficult to see that change in the last game. In the series so far, West Indies have relied heavily on Chris Gayle, who has had starts in every game. The rest of them, save Shivnaraine Chanderpaul are yet to fire and have struggled against Zimbabwe’s spinners. Kieron Pollard looked to have achieved the balance between attack and defence in Australia, but has failed to leave his mark on this series so far. He will be hoping to get some runs behind his back, ahead of the IPL.
Zimbabwe’s batting in the last couple of games has been abysmal, to say the least. The pitch in the previous match was a difficult one to score freely on but that does not change the fact that their top order has looked well below International quality. Hamilton Masakadza and Tatenda Taibu have been two of the top-order batsmen who have made some significant contributions but the rest of them will need to improve if the visitors are to get a win.Elton Chigumbura has scored a half century and a 40 but is surprisingly being sent too low down the order.
