RAIN PLAYS SPOIL-SPORT

The fourth ODI of the tri-series has been abandoned due to heavy rain.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat. Jacob Oram was declared fit and walked straight into the eleven along with Grant Elliott and Peter Ingram who all replaced Tim Southee, Andy McKay and Martin Guptill. Like the visitors, Sri Lanka also made three changes by including Chamara Silva, Rangana Herath and Ajantha Mendis in place of Thilan Samaraweera, Suraj Randiv and Dilhara Fernando. When the game was about to begin the Rain God intervened and the match was forced to be called-off without a single ball being bowled. Tomorrow is the reserve day and the match is re-scheduled to start with fresh toss.
