West Indies make it four straight wins
High Bowling Efficiency helped West Indies complete a comfortable victory in the fifth ODI against Zimbabwe at Kingstown and a 4-1 series win.

Chris Gayle won the toss and put Zimbabwe in. The visitors were on the backfoot right from the start, managing just 18 runs in the Quick start overs and losing the wickets of Hamilton Masakadza and Timycan Maruma. Things got worst as they lost a further three wickets in the next six overs, getting reduced to 25 for five at the end of 16 overs. Elton Chigumbura tried to bring stability to the innings but their partnership was reduced to just 38 runs with Kieron Pollard getting rid of Chigumbura. But Coventry continued to battle from one end and found good support from the lower order. His half century along with some late contributions helped Zimbabwe post 161 at the end of 50 overs.
The hosts got off to a flier in the run chase with Chris Gayle looking solid as ever. West Indies raced away to 70 for one at the end of the Power Play with most of the runs coming from Gayle’s bat. The skipper managed 63 runs off just 41 balls before Prosper Utseya picked up his wicket. Things got a little shaky for the home side as Zimbabwe picked up three wickets in quick succession and started to believe that they could come back into the contest. But Kieron Pollard scored a blistering 36 off just 20 balls and put the match firmly in West Indies’ favour. They eventually wrapped things up in the 28th over.
Chris Gayle was adjudged Man of the Match for his efforts with the bat.
