Captains rely on Core Skills to deliver

Adam Gilchrist is leading the pack of captains in this IPL so far with his all round abilities. He is scoring runs, he is taking catches and is bringing on the leadership qualities in the field which has resulted 4 wins in 7 matches for Deccan Chargers this IPL.

According to Castrol Index, Gilchrist is performing true to his Core Skills for which he was induced by the Franchisee owners. No wonder, he has notched up a Castrol Index of 59 this IPL.

Anil Kumble of Bangalore Royal Challengers is also not far behind, taking 10 wickets so far this IPL and notching up a CI of 48 based on his Core Skills which is bowling.

Brendon McCullum of Kolkata KnightRiders is yet to hit form with the bat, having made a total of only 50 runs in 8 matches that he played this year. The lack in Core Skill performance may have affected his leadership qualities also resulting in 6 losses for the team so far.
